Ashley got "The Princess and the Frog" DVD for her birthday. Both of the kids love it, but for different reasons. To Ashley, it's another Disney princess to adore. Nathan, however, loves the crude but endearing lightning bug whose famous lines include, "Don't make me light my butt!" In spite of a few choice phrases (see previous statement) and some slightly scary black magic scenes, it's a really good movie.
The main character is a waitress aspiring to own her own restaurant and is famous for her "man catching beignets". If you have never been to New Orleans, you might not be familiar with these tasty treats. They are basically a square doughnut with no hole covered in powdered sugar. We made them on Saturday, and they were delicious! Of course, in my opinion, you can never go wrong with fried dough that is covered in sugar. ; )
