Spiderman?

I guess I'm going to have to break down and buy Nathan his own Spiderman costume. It's not like he doesn't have any dress up clothes. (Buzz Lightyear with inflatable wings and walkie talkie arm cuffs is the all-time favorite.) But when he came into the living room the other day wearing his Spiderman underwear as a face mask, it was just sad. Hilarious, but sad. He also incorporated the underwear/mask into his homemade Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costume later that day. A big "thanks" to the Johnsons for getting him hooked on TMNT. Just what we needed...more fighting role models. As for costumes, here's a picture of Ashley wearing Nathan's 1st Halloween costume. It's a giraffe, in case you can't tell from the picture. It kind of looks like a cow or a horse.

Summer Reading Program

The boys did the summer reading program at the library this summer and they had a detective theme. Here is detective Micah with his summer reading t-shirt and moustache.

My gang

We are spending our days adjusting to having #3. I find it hard to leave the house before 3:00 p.m. Between Micah and Lily's naptime somebody is always sleeping!! I think that's a good thing. Here is a most recent picture of my gang.

Connyman

The boys are going through a big spiderman phase right now. They bought these costumes last week at Toys R Us. J is black spiderman and Micah is red spiderman.

Say Cheese!

We tried to take the traditional family picture on the beach complete with white shirts, khakis, and suntans (as tan a we get, anyway). But, it is nearly impossible to get both of our kids to look at the camera at the same time. Here's the best we could do.

Beach Bummer

We took an end-of-the-summer vacation to Florida this week. Unfortunately, Nathan was stung by a jellyfish within 15 minutes of getting in the water, so he didn't want to go back in. Ashley (who hates being hot, dirty, or wet) wasn't much of a fan of the beach at first either. I thought that Jeff's idyllic visions of family vacations to the beach were shot, but they both eventually warmed up to the whole thing. Nathan still prefers the pool to the ocean, though. Maybe next time we will save 20 hours of driving and book a room at the Embassy Suites for a few days!

Howdy Partner!

Renee sent me some pictures of her boys at Vacation Bible School.
Just a wild guess here, but I think it was a western theme.

Also, here's a picture of the recently expanded Johnson family. The little legs and feet sticking out of the Bjorn are all that you can see of Lily.

Birthday Carnival

We went this morning to Caroline's Carnival Birthday Party. It was great fun, and they had everything from a jumpy house and face painting to Jamie in a clown wig. (I will spare you the picture of Jamie in the wig, but if you want to see it, let me know.) Nathan has been planning his 5th birthday party for months. He wants to have a pirate party. Now if I can just hire Heather to make all decorations, we'll be set come October. ~ Racheal
