Climbing with the Johnsons

When the Johnsons were home the first week of July, we went to the LR Climbing Center one evening. We had the front half of the building to ourselves. 

The back half of the building was occupied by a big bouldering group. All those bodies made it kind of hot and stinky in the building. Let's just say they were an all-natural kind of group and were not afraid to use the community toenail clipping station. As Lily would say, "That's nasty!"

Queen Wilhelmina State Park

We woke up on the 4th of July and decided to take a drive across the Natural State. With major storms to the south, we decided to drive west. We ended up going to Queen Wilhelmina State Park. The park itself was not our favorite, but the drive there was amazing.

What do you get a when you take 8 kids to the beach? Good times and lots of great stories! This summer we made our first trip to Perdido with the Leslie clan. When we are all together, Nate is the oldest of the bunch, Porter is the youngest, and there are 6 girls in between! We had good weather all week, but some crazy, red flag waves the first few days. We spent the week swimming a lot, eating a lot, and laughing a whole lot!

On Wednesday, we went to the Pensacola Naval Air Station to watch the Blue Angels practice. It was hot and crowded, but we enjoyed the show.
