Random Spring Break Pics

One more picture from Sarris (an incredible chocolate castle)
On Monday (I think, it all runs together) we went to IKEA and for the first time, all of the kids were big enough to drop off at the play area. Lily's curls made her just tall enough! The grown-ups browsed and had an uninterrupted hour.

Even though we flew to Pittsburgh, we spent a lot of time in the car after we got there.

And finally, no trip would be complete without at least one trip to Chick-Fil-A. This one was in Morgantown, WV right next to WVU. (Go, Mountaineers! I'm currently in 1st place in our office pool and WVU picked to the Elite 8.)

Spring Break in MD!

We wrapped up our visit with a trip to Wisp Resort in Maryland. The boys and Jeff had never skied before, so they started at ski school. It's going to take a lot more practice to develop any future Bode Millers in this group.

The snow tubing was more their style. You ride a conveyor belt up to the top - way up to the top - and then tube down really far, really fast!

Spring Break in WV!

One good thing about SW Pennsylvania is that you can go to a lot of different states without having to travel very far. Yesterday, we went to Wheeling, WV. This was Jeff's and my second trip to Wheeling. Our first trip was in 2007 (pre-blog). We came up to see the Johnsons right after they had moved into their house. Sensing that Aaron and Renee were exhausted, Jeff and I took all the kids (pre-Lily) out of the house early one morning for a drive and ended up at the Toy and Train Museum in Wheeling. It was so lame and a little scary.

This time, our guided tour with Renee and Aaron was much better. We went to Cabela's which was like a Bass Pro Shop on crack. I have to admit that I was very impressed with the stuffed animal (as in taxidermy, not Build-a-Bear) exhibits. They were very realistic and almost too life-like.

Spring Break in PA!

We arrived in Pittsburgh late Saturday night. The kids tried to stay awake until we made it to the Johnsons, but they crashed. Nate and JJ both woke up when we got there and stayed awake giggling and talking after we put them to bed.

We spent Sunday at Life Point. Here's a picture of the girls in matching dresses.

Last night we went Sarris Ice Cream Parlor and Chocolate Shop. This is my 4th or 5th trip to WAPA, but I've somehow missed out on this chocolate-lover's paradise. Jeff and I split this huge sundae while we were there, and I got some chocolate-covered pretzels for later.

Four and Fabulous!

I wanted to take a picture of the birthday girl this morning. She was being rather uncooperative (to put it nicely), so this is the best I got. This is what she wore to school today - crown, tutu, and all!

Partying at Pink Bliss

We had Ashley's 4th birthday party today at Pink Bliss. It was a girlie-girl's paradise: costumes, make-up, manicures, and hair-dos. In addition to our regular girl friends and family members, we also invited all the girls in her class, and they all came! Ashley loved it and has already asked if she can have her 5th birthday party there.

Luck O' the Irish

Jeff has been wanting to celebrate his Irish heritage, so today we went to the St. Patrick's Day parade downtown where we unexpectedly ran into the Krebs.

It wouldn't be a St. Patrick's Day parade without bagpipes...

...or pints!

Missy's dad on his John Deere. I'm not sure what tractors have to do with St. Patrick's day, but hey, they are green!

Here Comes the Flower Girl

Ashley is going to be one of the flower girls in my friend Danielle's wedding this summer. Today we met at the bridal store to try on dresses. My little diva loved every minute of it...frilly dresses, a wall of mirrors, and lots people commenting on how pretty she looked!
