A Boy and His Dog

Now that I've been blogging less frequently, I seem to mostly post about the big events: holidays, birthdays, vacations, etc. I don't want to get away from capturing the everyday events like a boy and his dog playing in the creek. These are precious memories too. (Don't ask about the bandana...that's just Nate being Nate.)

Great Wolf Lodge

Amanda thought it would be fun to surprise the kids with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge before they left out on their big adventure. Mom took my kids over Spring Break, and they LOVED it! The older Stacy kids had been before too, but this was the first trip for the little ones. We headed to Dallas after partying on Saturday and spent Memorial Day weekend in the water park madness! I would not recommend going on a holiday weekend (crowds and costs were inflated), but the kids had a blast.

G'Bye Mates!

The Stacys are leaving for Australia tomorrow! We celebrated their departure yesterday with family and friends at a central Arkansas landmark: Larry's Pizza.

Six Years of Soccer

Our boys have grown up on these fields at Fellowship. I am so proud of them and love the young men that they are becoming. Their singular purpose in yesterday's game was to try to get everyone on the team to score. The final score was 7-0, but more importantly 6 out of the 8 teammates scored a goal in yesterday's game and everyone scored at least once this season! Nate had one of his best seasons ever! Here's a look back at the last six years.

Thank you, Doctor/Coach/Mr. Jeff Adams!

Yesterday was a big day for the Adams family! While Dr. Adams was (in Ashley's words) "graduating from college for the third time", his teams were playing their last Upward soccer games of the year. At Jeff's insistence, I took the kids to the game while live-streaming the graduation on the sidelines. Thanks to Coach Olga and Coach Chad for filling in on the coaching duties! Also, photo credits to my sister-in-law Karen for some of the great pics below.

It has been a very wet spring, so our season was cut short due to rain and wet fields. It was touch-and-go with the weather today, but they did get to play and looked like muddy little pigs when it was over.  Jeff (still wearing his dress clothes) made it by half-time in the boys game. For our boys, it was their last game ever. For more on that, grab a tissue and read the next post. :(

It was also a farewell game for Ashley's friend Brooke who is moving to St. Louis this week. These girls have been buddies since PreK, and we will miss her!
