The Winter She Broke Her Leg

Wow! The last few weeks have been a blur! First, let me make a correction to the previous entry where I stated that nothing was broken following the sledding accident. I took Ashley back for an ortho follow-up on the Tuesday following the Saturday sled crash. She was still having a lot of pain, so they X-rayed her lower left leg and found that her tibia was broken. Second broken bone this year! They set her leg in a blue cast (her choice). After that, we went to school to pick-up Nate who was the first to sign it.

When we got home, we started the chore of trying to figure out how to bathe her, wash her hair, get in out of the rain, etc. without getting her cast wet. When she broke her arm, they were able to use a waterproof cast, so this part was all new to us. We have pretty much figured out how to get by for the last 3 weeks. Now the problem is that she's a little too comfortable on her crutches, and we have to tell her to slow down. This is a good sign that things are almost back to normal!
