Kayak Regatta
Since moving to Florida, Amanda and Josh have amassed a small fleet of kayaks. We decided to take them out in the bay on our last day. There were so many of us that we still ended up renting one more! We started out at Big Lagoon State Park and paddled (quickly!) across the Intracoastal Waterway to the bay side of Perdido. We crossed the road on foot to swim and eat lunch on the gulf side before starting our trip back to the lagoon. Whew! What an upper body workout. I'll admit that I'm a little sore today. Nathan, Brandon, and Mikayla all did a great job. I think Dad would have been impressed!
Pensacola 2012
The first time I visited Pensacola (over 10 years ago), I didn't care for it much. Now that we have been back a couple of times recently, I really think it has come a long way. The Pensacola Beach area has a lot of new restaurants and cool stuff to do like the Ferris wheel below that is supposed to open later this summer. And even though it is a little bit of a drive, I really love the beach at Fort Pickens. It is pretty isolated in comparsison to the overcrowded condo beaches, and it is beautiful!
Beach Bound!
Last Friday, we headed south with Amanda and her kids as they returned home to Pensacola. Since we didn't leave until after noon (and because I don't really like driving 10 hours in a single stretch), we spent the night just outside of Jackson, MS. The kids had fun in the pool - especially Izzy!
Izzy was crazy about Nathan!
She liked Jeff, too!

The second half of the trip was pretty brutal! We were stuck in traffic outside Mobile for over an hour along with everyone else trying to make it to the coast.

Family Farm - Part 1
So, both of my kids are going to day camp this summer...but on different weeks. They each had friends going on different weeks, and I figured some time apart for them this summer would be good for all of us! Nathan and his posse went to Family Farm this week. We carpooled with some of our WLR crew so that driving back and forth to the drop-off/pick-up location (Holland Chapel church) wouldn't wear us out. The boys, however, are completely worn out! I told one of the other moms that they were so tired yesterday that I hardly heard them say "fart" or "butt" the whole way home. Very rare with 5 boys in the truck! ; )

Happy Father's Day!
: )
My dad has really come a long way in using technology in the last few years. I get text messages and pictures from him pretty much every week. This from the same guy who first operated the mouse on his computer with two hands! He still has a thing or two to learn about texting lingo, however. Actual conversation we had yesterday:
Dad: "I never got your reply to my text yesterday. All I got was two dots and a parenthesis."
Me: "Dad...look at it sideways. It's a smiley face." : )
In honor of Father's Day, I thought I would share a few of the pics that he has sent me. They are pretty low resolution, but you can still get an idea of what it's like in the world of Mike Fischer.

Loco Ropes - Take 2!
The Krebs invited us to go with them to Loco Ropes in Mountain View today. The boys are camping this weekend, so Ashley and I were both honorary Krebs girls for the day. Poor Brett! We outnumbered him six to one! Ashley and Lydia were both just tall enough to go on the course. We spent the afternoon at the Ozark Folk Center and met up with Jennifer and Evan for a short visit before we started down the winding road home.
All the gymnastics lessons are paying off. The girls all did great! No treetop rescues required.

Can you find Ashley in this picture?
Maybe this will help.
